You are going to be mesmerized by the wildlife at the Weeki Wachee Springs State Park because of the diversity and beauty of the land here.
It is loads of fun when you go on a bright day.
We took the time to walk around and the aquatic animals were a delight to see. We also took the time to sign up for one of the tours to get a closer look at these animals. We recommend this tour because you are going to get to see the dolphins too!
When we talk about the most beautiful beaches in Florida, it’s essential to mention the beaches of Sarasota.
The crystal clear water, warm sand, and beautiful views are to die for.
We cannot recommend Sarasota enough as one of the premier Gulf Coast cities in Florida. Siesta Key Beach is easy on the eyes and just walking around the downtown area is going to be loads of fun too.
Silver Springs State Park
This is another top-tier Florida state park in this region.
This state park is simply delightful because of the greenery. When you are walking around, you will see a diversity of plants that you might not get to see in other states.
Silver Springs State Park is massive and spread across thousands of acres making it a fun day trip from Tampa.
You can spend the entire day here and just lounge around. It’s well worth it!
Bok Tower Gardens
For those who love botanical gardens, visiting Bok Tower Gardens is essential.
This is one of the best botanical gardens in Florida right now. It’s well-maintained, beautiful, and has a long list of plant species to see in real life.
It is situated in Lake Wales and is a short drive over from Tampa.
You are going to spend hours here because there are acres of land where the plants are spread. The beauty is exceptional.
Fort De Soto Park
Fort De Soto Park is a calm, easy-going park in the heart of St. Petersburg.
When we talk to local families in the region, they will often mention this beautiful park. They believe it offers open spaces, gorgeous views, and great fishing spots too.
Since we love to do a bit of fishing, we took the time to head out to this delightful park and it was worth it.
The gorgeous fort only adds to its appeal and you are going to love walking around the water when you are coming on a sunny day.
Crystal River is fascinating and it is one of those spots where you are going to get to see the beauty of rushing water along with wildlife in one spot.
We didn’t know how our experience would be by the river but it turned out to be excellent.
We got to see manatees in the water and that was the first time we had ever seen this animal in person. You are not going to forget this as the manatees are going to be right there when you are heading towards Crystal River.
Keel Farm is one of the top family-friendly day trips from Tampa.
We loved going to this location because you are going to get to walk around the farm and just experience a more relaxed part of Florida. It’s homely, fun, and ideal for people of all ages.
We took the time to eat at the restaurant and just enjoy the local cuisine. It’s a lot of fun to be here and the view is great too.
When you are in Florida, you are always going to know the charm of Disney is lingering in the air.
The same applies to those in Tampa.
You are going to be driving over to Disney Springs in Orlando and it’s going to be a charming way to spend the day. They have built a comprehensive location in the form of Disney Springs and it’s common for families to head out to this part of Florida when looking to have fun.
To continue with the Disney theme, it’s essential to also include the beautiful Disney World.
This is situated in Orlando and is going to give you access to the various theme parks. It simply does not get more entertaining than this when you are going with the family.
We took the time to go to the Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios when we were there.
It’s great because the rides are fun and it will help pass the time.
Dunedin is one of those charming Gulf Coast cities in Florida that deserves a chance to shine when you are driving over from Tampa.
We always love coming to this part of Florida.
The Honeymoon Island State Park is gorgeous and it is also home to some of the best Florida beaches you are going to get to see. The sand is great, the water is warm, and you are going to get to enjoy outstanding views.

Hillsborough River State Park
The last place on this list has to be Hillsborough River State Park.
This is a gorgeous state park situated close to Tampa and offers gorgeous greenery. We took the time to head into the water when we were there because the water is great for kayaking.
We also took the time to walk around on the trails and experience the plants that were present all around us. If you are lucky, you are going to get to see a wide array of animals too.
