We have explored the joy of coffee in Scottsdale but Arizona is also home to one of the most beautiful areas in America.
During our time in the state, we wanted to go check out the sunrise in Monument Valley.
This is a heralded experience because it’s beautiful and a great opportunity to take some gorgeous photos along the way.
When you start to see the sunrise at Monument Valley, you are going to be in awe of the area’s natural beauty. It’s quite the experience and it’s something you are going to want to take in at least once in your life.
Just being able to look around and explore the region’s natural beauty is something you are going to want to do.
Admission Fee For Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park
- Fee = $20 USD Per Vehicle (4 or Less People)
This is a fascinating spot and it’s common for people to come to this part of the state whether they are coming over from Utah or Arizona.
The price is worth it in our eyes.
Once you are there, you are going to have access to the entire area including being able to go to The View Hotel.
We took the time to explore the land and make sure to see all parts of the park.
How To Watch The Sunrise At Monument Valley
Now that you are at the location, how are you going to see the sunrise?
You are going to have to make sure to get to the hotel. The View Hotel is one of the best spots to see the sunrise because you are going to get an elevated look at the sun.

This is one spot that’s going to offer tremendous value and there’s a reason it’s called The View Hotel. You will get to enjoy a gorgeous view from here.
The facilities at the hotel are good too, which adds to the experience.
We would also recommend taking the time to enjoy the scenic drive at Monument Valley. This is going to be by driving down Valley Drive. The loop has been designed to make it easier to enjoy the valley from one point to the next.
The views from here are breathtaking too.
You are going to be in awe of the natural elegance of the valley as you slowly drive around in the morning.
We would even recommend this during the day as the sunrise is just one part of the region’s appeal.

Getting To Monument Valley From Utah
Let’s assume you are going to be going to the Monument Valley from Utah.
If that is the case, it’s going to take you a bit of time to get to the location but it will be well worth it. You are going to want to get to the Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park.
Depending on where you are in Utah, they will take around 5-6 hours.
You will need to time this properly or you are going to miss the Monument Valley sunrise. In general, you are going to want to get there around 6 AM and then wait for the sunrise which will happen around 7 AM. Of course, this will change depending on when you are going during the year.
Always take the time to check when the sunrise is before leaving for Monument Valley.
Based on our experience, we saw the sunrise at around 7 AM in the fall.

For us, this is one of the most charming parts of being in Arizona and you are going to want to take a day trip out to the region. They have nicely developed the area for those who want to make the most of their time here and it will be well worth it.
Some views are worth it and this is one where you are going to want to plan things ahead of time. Once you are there, the view is exceptional.
