It’s now time to look at Staten Island beaches.
Staten Island is a gorgeous place with a fascinating vibe for those who want to be outdoors. We adored our time in Staten Island and it is one of those places where you are going to want to go in the summer.
If you are looking for warm sand and a place to swim, it’s time to head to the best beaches in Staten Island based on what we have experienced.
Here are the best Staten Island beaches and why we love them.
Top Beaches In Staten Island
Orchard Beach
Orchard Beach is one of our favorites when it comes to a quaint place to soak in the sun.
It’s a beautiful beach that is along Pelham Bay and is spread across a mile of land. It’s ideal for families and those who are looking to hear the rush of the water while being able to lounge.
The area is clean and it’s easy to find a spot at Orchard Beach in Staten Island. We loved this quality about it and the experience is quite fascinating once you are here.

Asbury Park
Asbury Park Beach is a common option for those in Staten Island.
It’s a beautiful beach that has been developed over the years and continues to bring people from all over to its shores. We loved our time here because this is an aesthetically pleasing beach with positive vibes from one end to the other.
Those who love being in the water are going to love the warmth. It’s a great place to be in the summer months and the sand is great too!
Coney Island Beach
Coney Island Beach is often listed as one of the premier Staten Island beaches to visit.
We find the sand to be gorgeous here and it’s a fascinating spot that is heralded by the locals. It’s common for people to spend hours here just soaking in the sun, enjoying the boardwalk, or sitting on the sand looking out at the water.
It’s one of those beaches where you are going to adore your time here and it’s going to be busy too.
Jacob Riis Park Beach
This is situated in Queens and it’s one of those remarkable beaches that is going to impress you due to its natural beauty.
We find this to be a fantastic beach because it offers ample space along the water while also acting as a traditional park. This allows for spaces to sit with your family and/or friends to just enjoy the good weather in the summer while eating BBQ or whatever you have in hand.
This is a great place that is appealing to people of all ages.
Great Kills Park
We know people love boating in Staten Island and that’s when you are going to come to Great Kills Park.
This is a beautiful beach that is situated on Staten Island and is ideal for those who want to have access to the marina.
If you don’t have a boat, it’s still wonderful to be in the area looking out at the boats while having a sandwich or good food by your side. We found this to be intoxicating because of how charming the setting was.
Jones Beach
Jones Beach is set along the Atlantic Ocean and it’s one of those aesthetically pleasing beaches that are going to shine when it’s time to take beautiful photos.
We enjoyed our time here and there is a reason it is popular among the locals.
It is spread over six miles, which means you can find a spot any day of the week including the weekend. When there is so much space, you are always going to love coming here and just enjoying the vibe with so many people around!
Cedar Grove Beach
Cedar Grove Beach is a world-class beach that has all of the natural qualities a person wants to enjoy when it’s time to live here.
The beach is charming, beautiful, and has all of the natural qualities you are going to want when bringing the family. We often find the trails in this area to be underrated because it’s a pleasure walking in these areas and just people-watching.

Gunnison Beach
Gunnison Beach is a wonderful beach that is set along the Atlantic Ocean.
We find this beach to be historic as it offers a gorgeous view of the water while also acting as a spot for the ferries that run to Manhattan. This is why it’s common for people to be in the area even if they are not lounging on the beach.
For us, it was a nice place to rest and just enjoy time away from the rush of Manhattan.
South Beach
This is not the South Beach you are thinking of but it is still world-class.
We loved this South Beach in Staten Island because it offers a view of the bridge and then you are going to have ample space to walk around.
It is spread out over 1 1/2 miles allowing you to walk throughout the area with the water nearby. We loved this element of South Beach and the views are remarkable once you sit and look out at the bridge.
Rockaway Beach
Ever wanted to see planes take off and land in New York?
Well, you are going to want to head straight for Rockaway Beach because the vantage point of the airport from here is remarkable. We simply sat down by the water on a hot summer’s day and looked out JFK airport noticing the planes coming and going.
It was a beautiful sight and it’s something you don’t always get to see at other beaches.
Brighton Beach
Brighton Beach is a wonderful beach that is situated close to another beach on this list – Coney Island Beach.
We went to both beaches at the same time because it was easier to do so and we recommend you do the same if possible.
This allows you to take in a view of the water, spend time along the shore, and explore the nearby attractions. This is what makes it a fun day trip because you can do multiple things at the same time.
