When we were buying fish in Spain, we also got the hear about this dish.
The locals often mentioned how the churros in Spain are some of the best on the planet. This is what got us mouth-watering because the ones we have had in America were decent but not always as consistent as they should be.
So, we took the time to try a few out.
The taste was incredible!
This is why we have taken some of the elements that we learned in Spain and incorporated those ideas into a recipe for Spanish churros that you can make.
Here is a breakdown of the Spanish churros recipe.

How To Make Spanish Churros At Home
Spaniards will often eat a churro when they are celebrating something. It’s seen as a way to sweeten the mouth and have a good time with a local dessert such as this one.
When we went to one of the events that was being hosted in Valencia, it was easy to see people selling churros all around us. Not only were they selling churros in Spain but also making good money because they were selling out quickly.
Anyone who is in Spain should be buying a Spanish churro. It’s a must!
If you are going to begin preparing churros at home then you will want to begin by preparing the initial ingredients.
The first step we did was to begin to accumulate the key ingredients. This started with salt, sugar, water, and butter. We then took the time to pour the butter and sugar into a pan and let it melt a bit.
After a few minutes, we added flour, which helped create the thick mixture that we needed for the churro.
You will have to dig into it while mixing to ensure the consistency is right. The batter/dough will be quite thick but that’s perfect.
You are going to put it on the stove and let it warm a bit. Make sure to remove it from the stove as it begins to warm up and then let it cool. At this stage, you are going to add the egg and then mix it in. This should take a few seconds.
Now, pour the oil into the pan and let it heat.
You are going to put the dough in a piping bag and make sure it is done evenly. You can now add it to the oil and begin to cut it. You have to be careful while doing this and make sure you are frying the churros for 2-3 minutes.
You will know they are ready to go as soon as the color begins to change to a golden tinge.
We recommend having a separate sheet set up where you can put the Spanish churros one by one. You are now going to take the sugar and sprinkle it onto the churros.
Always make sure you are being consistent with the churros and preparing them at a set heating point. This is going to include using a proper frying pan to ensure the oil is managed the right way. A lot of people don’t do this and that leads to inferior Spanish churros!
This is all you need to know when preparing Spanish churros.
If you do this right, the taste is going to be amazing and you are going to feel like you are in Spain. This is what we love about Spanish churros and why they continue to be a local favorite around Spain.
